Apple released an update to the iOS 17 software on Wednesday, October 5, 2023, United States time, to address overheating issues regarding its latest iPhone 15 .
The iPhone 15 series, encased in a titanium shell, launched last month with a custom A17 pro chip that powers the Pro and Pro Max phones. The hardware on the Pro line makes these devices suitable for high-end mobile gaming.
Shortly after the iPhone 15 models were launched, consumers complained of poor battery life and overheating.
The latest update to the iOS 17 software includes “important bug fixes, security updates, and addresses an issue that could cause iPhone to run hotter than expected,” an Apple spokesperson said on Wednesday, quoted by Reuters.
After complaints that new phones were getting very hot, Apple said earlier this week that devices may feel warmer in the first few days “after setting up or restoring the device due to increased activity.”
